My heart is very full this day as I have thought about our dear sweet prophet who has moved on to his next assignment. In one of the articles I read it said he was working up until a couple days before he died. It doesn't surprise me, he was a go getter!!! President Holland spoke in our Stake conference a few months back and he told us that President Hinckley was sick and lived in pain everyday of his life, and yet he refused to stop working. He continually pressed forward in faith to carry out his mission here and I can only imagine the reunion he had as he crossed over. Tears have filled my eyes most of the day as I have read story after story of how he impacted so many lives. It gives me a renewed desire to work harder and follow in his example of selfless service for the Lord's work. I feel blessed to be apart of such an amazing religion and to have leaders to guide us through these troubled times. I am grateful my children had an opportunity to listen to him and hear his counsel. I know they will forever remember him and the love he shared with all. He is leaving behind a legacy that will never die. Bridget and I were driving in the car today and we were listening to a primary CD when the song "We thank thee oh God for a Prophet" came on and chills covered my body as I listened and sang along to the words. I am so thankful for the impact he had in my life and will forever love him. Monday, January 28, 2008
